SciEng Research’s Crewed Mars Mission Concept Development and Experimentation published in the Journal of the British Interplanetary Society (JBIS). The publication culminates alternatives analysis and stochastic design research of mission architectures for human exploration of Mars. It includes mission utility analysis of NASA‘s DRA and its Austere edition, as well as its HERRO architecture, Salotti‘s Concept 2-4-2 and its revised version, ESA’s HMM, Roscosmos‘ MARPOST and its hybrid design, Zubrin‘s Mars Direct and its Semi-Direct / Hybrid-Direct architectures, and the MarsOne concept. In addition, constituents of the Von Braun‘s Mars Project, SpaceX‘s Interplanetary Transport System and Red Dragon, Aldrin‘s CPOM, Inspiration Mars, and Lockheed Martin‘s Mars Base Camp architectures are utilized to construct a vast tradespace for concept experimentation. Abstract: This paper presents the concept development and experimentation of human spaceflight missions to Mars. Utilizing Acolytion’s Progspexion, analysis of alternatives is performed inclusive of 18 prominent mission concepts with a vast experimentally designed tradespace exploration of crewed Mars mission architecture constituents. Results indicate that, as of date, no proposed mission concept is capable of achieving acceptable mission utility to risk ratios; however, the research produces 18 statistically guided developments to the concept of crewed Mars missions.
