Watson Institute for Scientific Engineering Research (SciEng Research) is located in the Ballston area of Arlington, Virginia in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area among many other prominent research agencies and organizations. It is located at the former headquarters of the National Science Foundation (NSF) and in close proximity to the Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR), Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), Office of Naval Research (ONR), United States Arctic Research Commission (USARC), Virginia Tech Research Center (VTRC-A), and others.
